Anxiety Therapy & Treatment
Are You Tired Of Constantly Overthinking Every Situation?
Is your ever-present anxiety affecting your relationships, self-esteem, and overall day-to-day life?
Do your anxious thoughts cause you to feel drained, exhausted to the point where you can hardly make decisions?
Are these racing thoughts—and your struggle to shut off your brain—making it difficult for you to concentrate, or even sleep?
Maybe you find it challenging to be present in the moment because you can’t stop dwelling on past events and mistakes you made. Or perhaps your overthinking is stretching into the future, causing you to worry about things that haven’t happened yet, and it’s crippling your ability to take action in the here and now.
When anxious thoughts keep taking over, it may also cause you to withdraw from family and friends, avoid social interactions and new experiences, or even cease doing the things you love to do out of fear.
Anxiety Can Show Up In Many Ways
Symptoms of anxiety show themselves in so many other forms than just worries and extreme anxiousness—such as irritability, anger, exhaustion, guilt, shame, depression, and even impatience. Maybe you’ve been more depressed than usual. Or you may feel ashamed because you haven’t been able to put your best foot forward at work or school.
At the end of the day, dealing with a slew of these issues raining down on you, you’re exhausted—tired of feeling anxious, stressed, and stuck.
Life seems like it is at a standstill.
But you don’t have to continue living this way. No matter what worries plague you—work, school, relationships, big life transitions, and more—you can find support through anxiety therapy.
Anxiety can also cause a variety of physical symptoms, such as:
Stomach issues
Headaches or dizziness
Sweating and hot flashes
Muscle tension
Increased heart rate or trouble breathing
An “out of control” or disconnected feeling
Panic Attacks
Nightmares
Intrusive thoughts
Trouble concentrating
Insomnia
You’re Not Alone In Your Battle Against Anxious Thoughts
The truth of the matter is that anxiety is a universal issue that transcends all age groups—everyone experiences it
Some anxiety can be helpful in situations where we need to be alert. However, anxiety becomes a more serious issue when it starts running our lives. Learning what this type of anxiety is to us individually and working on managing it is essential.
Many Elements Lie At The Root Of Anxiety
Social media is one of the driving forces behind the notion of needing to be perfect or meeting certain high standards by giving us distorted views of how other people live. For example, FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) can make it difficult seeing others out on vacation or enjoying the dating scene when we’re unable to do so. And by comparing our own situation to other people’s lifestyles, we may start to feel like we’re not good enough.
For some of us, anxiety may have its roots early in our lives, within our families. If we grew up with parents that were emotionally immature and constantly fighting, we were never properly taught boundaries and what a stable romantic relationship should look like, which contributes to the anxiety we feel in adulthood.
In addition, the modern world—living a fast-paced lifestyle or working in a big city—creates an ever-increasing toll of stress and anxiety for many of us.
It is not uncommon for people to wait until the situation has become so stressful that they can’t deal with it anymore before they consider therapy for anxiety because they believe that their issues are just not “bad enough”. Others may try to avoid their anxiety altogether, turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as overeating, drug use, alcohol, and social isolation.
But anxiety is not something to be taken lightly. Untreated, it can make you feel stuck in your life, your job, your relationships—unsure of what to do next.
Seeking treatment from a compassionate anxiety therapist can help you stop overthinking every little thought, improve your confidence, and start living the life you want to live.
Why Wait Until You Hit A Breaking Point?
An Anxiety Counselor Can Help You Get Your Life Back On Track
It is natural to feel nervous when starting therapy for the first time. That is precisely why online anxiety therapy with In-Balance Psychotherapy aims to give you a safe space where you can talk about anything without feeling judged.
I’m a professional anxiety therapist, but I’m also a human being. And I will show up for each session as my authentic self, not a robot who will just sit there and take notes. I love listening, and I love giving feedback!
What To Expect In Anxiety Therapy Sessions
Therapy sessions with me will give you the opportunity to learn more about yourself and better understand who you are. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and relatable. I use techniques that are proven to work and tailor my approach to each client's specific needs.
Before our first online sessions, I will ask you to fill out some intake paperwork. For counseling teens with anxiety, I will always meet with the parents or caretakers for the first initial session so I can get to know them and see how I can support their teen. For adult clients, our first therapy session will focus on me getting to know you and your situation and, together, outlining specific goals for treating your anxiety.
In ongoing sessions, we will discuss such things as what anxiety looks like to you, what triggers your anxiety, what symptoms show up for you, and how best to manage all of this. We will also touch on more personal things, such as how anxiety affects your self-worth, setting boundaries, your relationships (dating, friends, family), and more.
The #1 Anxiety Treatment Method
I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a proven, evidence-based therapeutic approach considered to be the gold standard for treating anxiety. With the help of CBT, we can identify unproductive and unrealistic ideas you may have about yourself and disruptive thought patterns that have negatively impacted your emotions and behaviors.
As a therapist specializing in CBT, I can teach you how to challenge your anxious thoughts, stop overthinking, and manage any anxiety and panic attacks you may experience so you can feel more confident and prepared. With my guidance, you will be able to put together a toolbox of lifelong coping skills to help you address the things that may cause you to feel overwhelmed.
Ultimately, our long-term goal is to help you break free of bad habits that contribute to your anxiety, see things from a different perspective, be more confident, and stop anxiety from letting you live the life you want. No more getting stuck in that anxiety thought loop—you will be in charge of you again!
Maybe You’re Thinking Of Trying Anxiety Therapy, But You Still Have Some Concerns…
-
How often do I need to go to therapy?
I meet with most of my clients on a weekly basis for 45 minutes. If you’re a new client, I would like to ask you to commit to weekly sessions for the first 6-8 weeks. This initial period sets a strong foundation for progress to be made right away. After this, we can discuss adjusting the session frequency based on your individual requirements to ensure the most effective treatment possible.

I understand most therapists conduct in-person therapy. Will I get the same results virtually?
Yes! Absolutely. According to the American Psychological Association, teletherapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety disorders.
Online therapy is amazing. You won't waste your time commuting, you can wear comfy clothes and have your pet with you (if you want), and you’re even able to schedule a session during your lunch break.

I’ve tried working with an anxiety therapist before, and nothing changed. How will working with you be any different?
I understand that therapy can be frustrating, especially if you've tried it before and didn't see any changes. But let me tell you, therapy is not a one-size-fits-all thing. Just because one approach didn't work for you doesn't mean that all therapies won't work for you.
As a therapist with a modern approach, I don't just sit there and nod my head and ask, "So, how does that make you feel?" I'm all about building strong relationships with my clients, where we work together as a team to find solutions and make progress.
If you tell me what didn't work for you in your previous therapy experiences, I can adjust my approach and ensure that we're on the same page. I won't promise that therapy is a magic fix that will change everything overnight. Still, I believe that with consistent effort, therapy can help you see positive results and make meaningful changes in your life.
